The World Tipiṭaka Project 1999-2024
The World Tipiṭaka Project 1999 - 2024 :
From the Roman-Script Transliteration in Pāḷi Language
to
The Sajjhāya Phonetic
and
The Monotone Music Notation Transcription
To ensure an accurate pronunciation of all syllables in the Pāḷi Tipiṭaka, totaling 9,442,442 syllables, the project based its reference on the Kaccāyana Pāḷi Grammar of old. This analysis, along with innovative transcription methods, has made it possible to construct and thus preserve the original Pāḷi enunciation, believed to have been recited at the First Great Tipiṭaka Council, Buddhist Era 1 (B.C. 543).
Purpose
This Sajjhāya Phonetic Tipiṭaka Recitation Edition (80-Volume Set) [1] was first published in 2016 to commemorate Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, and Queen Sirikit of Thailand's 70-year reign. This special 2023 Edition is launched this year on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, Rama X of Thailand's 72nd Birthday Anniversary, 2024.

The Tipiṭaka is the Heritage of Humanity. The first section, the Vinayapiṭaka Pāḷi Book (5 vols.) is the foundation of the world’s oldest legal code of humankind[12]. The second section, the Suttantapiṭaka Pāḷi Book (23 vols.) offers a reference to all the Buddha’s Teachings, most importantly, a Vipassanā methodology of training the Mind. The final section, the Abhidhammapiṭaka Pāḷi Book (12 vols) is the repository of Dhamma terminology, a supra-mundane phenomena of human psyches.
This Sajjhāya or the Saj-jʰā-ya Phonetic Tipiṭaka Edition is, therefore, the world’s first publication in Digital Phonetic Symbols, a Sound-Technology Database Transformation from thousands years of ancient writing in Buddhist Sacred Texts. The World Tipiṭaka Database is strictly based on this aforementioned Roman-Script 2005 Edition which was regarded by leading international libraries worldwide as the standard Buddhist Theravāda Canon Publication when it was first presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana[13] of Thailand, Honourary President of the World Tipiṭaka Project since 2003 (The UNESCO Eminent Personality of the World 2023-2024) as a Royal Gift of Peace and Wisdom to the world from the Kingdom of Thailand.
