On September 15, 2026, H.E. Mr. Sasivat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Thanpuying Varaporn Pramoj Na Ayudhya, President of the World Tipiṭaka Foundation; Thanpuying Dr. Pharani Mahanonda, President of the Dhamma Society Fund; and Thanpuying M.L. Maṇīratana (Snidvongse) Bunnag, under the patronage of His Holiness Prince Krom Luang Vajirañāṇasaṁvara, accompanied by the patrons of the Saj-jʰā-ya  Tipiṭaka Project, jointly presented 80 volumes of the World Tipiṭaka (Saj-jʰā-ya  Phonetic Edition)—comprising the King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit Commemorative editions (2016)—to the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg. The presentation was received by Mrs. Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Denis Tsypkin, Director General of the National Library of Russia, with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and Russian dignitaries present as witnesses.

Since the successful completion of the 80-volume Saj-jʰā-ya  Phonetic Tipiṭaka King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit Commemorative edition in 2016, the project has conducted ongoing research and linguistic transliteration of Pāḷi phonetic sounds based on the original Saj-jʰā-ya  edition. These texts were formatted into a computer engineering database, enabling the publication of a 40-volume Kirillitsa-Pāḷi edition known as the World Tipiṭaka Kirillitsa-Pāḷi Series (Russian-Pāḷi), as demonstrated in this Dhammapada sample:

Currently, the publication of the World Tipiṭaka emphasizes adherence to Kaccāyana Pāḷi grammar to promote more precise pronunciation. This will benefit international scholars, including those in Russia who are already familiar with the 1893 Chulachomklao Syām-Pāḷi Tipiṭaka edition preserved in various libraries, allowing them to further advance their studies in both pronunciation and the profound Dhamma teachings contained within the Tipiṭaka.

The historic Royal Gift of the 1893 Syām-Pāḷi Tipiṭaka to over 250 educational institutions worldwide includes documentation showing that King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) presented this edition to 20 key libraries across the Russian Federation, such as Saint Petersburg University. This serves as proof that the Dhamma gift from Syām is a invaluable repository of intellectual civilization, meticulously preserved over time. International libraries, operating with modern library science systems, have safely maintained the century-old Syām-Pāḷi Tipiṭaka from loss, making it easily searchable and efficiently accessible for public study.

Furthermore, the World Tipiṭaka Saj-jʰā-ya  Edition has been developed into digital Saj-jʰā-ya  audio using advanced technology. This facilitates widespread study and multidisciplinary research at the international level, particularly in medical science and environmental studies. Numerous recent studies show that reciting traditional chants from ancient global heritage produces measurable physical and mental effects; ordered sound waves can improve human health down to the molecular level of body water. Consequently, potential digital Saj-jʰā-ya  audio can be effectively studied to benefit molecular medicine and even genetic science.

For this reason, the Pāḷi language—which can be recited by any individual and is globally recognized through the Tipiṭaka as a repository of intellectual civilization and peace for humanity—serves as a reminder to contemporary humans regarding life and its quality. Peaceful existence requires a tranquil, balanced environment that fosters wisdom, which is the core essence purely and completely preserved in the Pāḷi language for nearly 3,000 years. Today, this message can be effectively disseminated through a technologically leading nation like Russia.

Through this presentation of the World Tipiṭaka Saj-jʰā-ya  Edition to the Russian Federation, the Saj-jʰā-ya  Tipiṭaka Project aims to offer the most complete and internationally standardized Tipiṭaka edition of the present day as a treasure of human intellectual civilization. The project honors the Thai Buddhist monarchy as an unprecedented high-level Dhamma propagation and royal friendship initiative. It also continues the royal determination spanning from the reign of King Rama V to the present reign in disseminating the Tipiṭaka to bring peace and wisdom to the global community.
